This is a planning tool. Upgrade buttons set your shell's current state; they do not simulate a random attempt.
Only one effect per grade can be upgraded, up to twice. Use + to add more effects of the same grade. Randomize keeps the number of effects and resets the shell to +0. Editing effects or changing equipment also starts a fresh shell.
